Support Services Privacy Supplement

last updated: January 2006

This supplement applies to Microsoft's support Web sites and its online and offline support services. These Web sites include:

When you submit a support request, we may collect hardware, software, and other information related to the support incident. This may include: information about the condition of the computer and the application when the fault occurred and during diagnostics, system and registry data about software installations and hardware configurations, and error tracking files.

Following a support incident, we may send you a survey about your experience with our current services or thoughts about potential new services that may be offered. Microsoft Business Support Offerings (e.g. Premier, Essential, Alliance, etc.) may send periodic e-mails informing you of technical service issues related to a product or service you requested. You will not be able to choose to unsubscribe to these mailings, as they are considered an essential part of the service you have requested. These Business Support Offerings may also periodically telephone you for a survey of your experience with our current services, thoughts about potential new services that may be offered or to alert you to critical security issues.

To review and edit your personal information collected through our support services, please contact us by using our web form.
